Ofori-Atta must be sacked; he’s worsened Ghana’s economy — KKD

Renowned media personality King Kwasi Kyei Darkwah popularly known as ‘KKD’ has suggested that President Nana Akufo-Addo sacks Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

The vociferous media personality believes the economy will do well when the finance minister is shown the exit.

Speaking to Prince Kwame Minkah, host of TV XYZ programme Dwaboase, the ace broadcaster argued that Ofori-Atta has benefitted so much from the loans the country has taken since his cousin, Akufo-Addo, assumed power.

“Ofori-Atta has benefitted enough from the country… Because of selfishness, when your family member is not doing well as a Finance Minister you can’t sack him,” KKD said in Akan.

To him, Ofori-Atta has amassed some riches from the government and must be sacked for ruining the country’s economy.

“He has been able to build his company– Data Bank– with his position. He has to go for nonperformance so someone else can step in to fix things,” he added.

His comment comes after the debt-ridden West African country under Akufo-Addo sought for a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to save Ghana’s economy.
