Hiplife artiste Justice Amoah know professionally as Patapaa, says it is inappropriate to compare Black Sherif’s “Kwaku the Traveller” to his 2017 hit song “One Corner.”
According to the scopatumana crooner, no Ghanaian song has created more waves over the world, than “One Corner,” which he calls the biggest in the country’s history.
Since its release, Black Sherif’s “Kwaku the Traveller” has created headlines, becoming the first Ghanaian song to peak Number One on the Top 100 Apple Music Charts in Nigeria.
The song also debuted on the Billboard Top Thriller Global Charts and became the most Shazamed song in the world, according to Shazam.
Patapaa told GNA Entertainment that “One Corner” put Ghanaian music on the worldwide stage, with music enthusiasts from all over the world paying attention to Ghanaian music.
“The challenge that ‘One Corner’ generated all over the world was staggering. For me, I consider Black Sherif’s ‘Kwaku the Traveller’ as a social media song, and it doesn’t even come close to ‘Scopatumana’.
“I do agree that ‘Kwaku the Traveller’ is doing very well, but people shouldn’t compare it to my ‘One Corner’. People have to respect my ‘One Corner’ song because it placed Ghana on the world music map, “he said
