Police secures court injunction against #FixTheCountry demo

The Police Administration has successfully secured a High Court injunction against the planned demonstration by pressure group #FixTheCountry Movement.

The street protest against bad governance of the Akufo-Addo administration was scheduled for tomorrow, June 4, 2022.

The action follows rejection of an earlier proposal by the Police through a statement to the group to reconsider the proposed route and timing.

#FixTheCountry conveners, who had vowed to arm themselves for protection, had planned to picket at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation and the Police headquarters in Accra for the three-day protest.

In her ruling, High Court Judge, Comfort Kwasiwoo Tsiawoo explained that the way the protesters intend to carry out the demonstration poses a security threat to the country and cannot be allowed.

A member of the group, Benjamin Darko, who was present at the Court has since been served.
