President Akufo-Addo’s Eastern Region Tour Enters Second Day

The Kwahumahene, Daasebre Akuamoah Acheampong has made a passionate appeal to the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to put in place stringent measures to end the issue of the Fulani herdsmen and the farmers at the area ones and for all.

The issue the Omanhene noted has intensity over the years and has resulted in the deaths of o many innocent souls and has also deprived some children access to education.

He made the appeal when the President Akufo- Addo and his entourage paid a courtesy call on him at his palace at Kwaku Abene in the kwahu East District of the Eastern Region.

Daasebre Agyapong noted that okwahuman contribute massively to the socio – economic development of the country hence the need for them to have their share of the national cake.

He spoke about the bad nature of roads on the Okwahuman ridge and appealed to the President to reconstruct the roads to boost economic activities in the area.

He was full of praise to the past and present government for the construction of the Nkawkaw -Atibie road which has brought about relief to the people.

He however, pleaded with the President to upgrade it to an asphalt to ensure its longevity.

He pledged Okwahuman’s readiness to rally behind the government in its quest to leave a legacy for the up coming generation by contributing their quota to national development.

He also asked the government to cut down on importation but rather produce to feed the country.

The Minister for Roads and Highways Amoako Atta in a reaction to the construction of roads n the ridge, indicated that the roads have been captured and will soon be awarded a contract for work t begin.

President Akufo-Addo addressing the chiefs and people of Okwahuman was grateful to them for their support towards national development.

He said the He is determined to fulfill all the campaign promises including the one District one factory policy which will intend address the numerous importation of goods and commodities.

The President and his entourage proceeded to Afosu where he addressed a durbur of chiefs and people of Abirem.

He indicated that he is determined to intensity the campaign against galamsey adding that he is not perturbed by the comments made by detractors.

He said he will give them all the support including logistics and infrastructure.

He earlier addressed the operation vanguard team in the area.

Abiremhene Obrenpong Kwasi Amo Tweretwie lauded the effort of the President in ending galamsey to the extent of putting his presidency at stake.

He pledged his people’s commitment on pushing the country’s development forward He asked for the building of a technical college of education to offer skills training to the youth of the area.

Obrenpong Amo Tweretwie also appealed for the construction of roads in the area.
