Revive COVID-19 campaign immediately – UPSA Don tells Gov’t

The Dean of Graduate School at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Dr John Mensah Mawutor has bemoaned the disregard for COVID-19 protocols in the country, saying a third wave of infections can have ravaging effects on the country.

The Senior Lecturer indicated that the detection of the Delta Variant which has struck Indians can force the country into another lockdown if citizens refuse to take responsibility of their lives and observe the protocols.

“The responsibility we expect from citizens to protect themselves is missing,” Dr Mawutor observed while reacting to the pandemic on Morning Update on TV XYZ.

“People don’t even believe that COVID-19 exist,”he added ‘You don’t need to be compelled to do the right thing, especially when it comes to your life.”

Mawutor advised that the government must reignite it’s campaign to sensitize citizens as there have been reported cases of the Delta Variant in some communities.

“The Government, the media must educate the public on the ravaging effects of COVID-19,” he urged.

He concluded that “Playing the blame game wouldn’t help but continues education is the way to go.”

“Even  though the advanced countries have vaccinated their Citizens, they don’t relent on the safety protocols,” he emphasized.
