Samini, Shatta Wale are not doing the right dancehall – Nana Fynn

Veteran Ghanaian musician Nana Fynn (2Lock) has disclosed that, dancehall artistes Shatta Wale and Samini are not doing the right dancehall.

According to Nana Fynn there’s no raggae dancehall artiste in Ghana. The two genres doesn’t relate.

“There’s no genre called raggae dancehall I don’t know of any genre I only know raggae and dancehall but I don’t know raggae dancehall it’s two different genres it’s like saying rock highlife if you say boga highlife because boga is not a genre on its own it’s more like describing something with a kind of highlife do you understand me so is not like”, he said.

Speaking to Agyemang Prempeh on Legends show on Tv XYZ, the Veteran said, though Samini and Shatta are trying they are not doing the right dancehall music.

“There are dancehall artiste in Ghana, they try… just like those you mentioned Samini, Shatta Wale they are trying with the dancehall thing just that I feel it’s not typical dancehall they should get a different name for it because it’s an identity they can carry beyond Ghana because the moment you call it dancehall someone from Jamaica or Caribbean who know the rudiment of what dancehall meanwhile what they do is close to highlife it’s like you are trying to use some forced Jamaican English called patois which the Jamaicans laugh at”he added.
