After two years in office as Ghana’s first-ever special prosecutor in the NPP government, Martin Amidu prematurely resigned on November 17, 2020. Despite the fact that he was investigating the Airbus scam and the Agyapa contract, he was unable to formally bring corrupt persons to light to prosecute them.
A day would not come by without him being on the television following his abrupt resignation. In an interview with Umaru Amadu Sanda of Citi News on Thursday, November 19, 2020, Martin Amidu sent the government a word of warning for throwing lies at him, or he will be forced to spill some dirty secrets.
His word of warning comes as he reacted to reports that in Germany he received treatment for a psychiatric illness.
Angry Captain Smart, however who claims that Mr. Amidu needs medical care, dared him to spill out the NPP’s dirty secrets as he exposed him big time.
Captain Smart reported on the ‘Anopa Bofo’ show on November 20, 2020, that Martin Amidu is a huge liar for claiming that when he was named by the president as the special prosecutor, the government did not give him a car.
The former Special Prosecutor, Martin A. B. K. Amidu, according to Captain Smart, made a budget that included a number of cars he would use for his role, but when the money was sent into his account by the finance minister, he declined to purchase the vehicle.
Martin Amidu is an idiot who can not prosecute an ante cause, Captain Smart added, why he wanted to resign prematurely.
Martin Amidu resigned from his position as the Special Prosecutor on November 16, 2020, after accusing the government of interfering in his work.
In his resignation letter, Mr. Amidu also claimed he did not feel secure after releasing a corruption risk assessment report he did on the controversial Agyapa Royalties deal.
