Sports Ministry summons GFA to emergency meeting over Black Stars AFCON exit

The Youth and Sports Ministry has summoned the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to an emergency meeting on Friday, January 21, 2022.

This comes following the Black Stars early exit from the ongoing AFCON in Cameroon after a shameful defeat to Comoros on last Tuesday in Garoua.

Ghana was axed from the tournament after losing 3:2 in their last group game of the on going AFCON to Comoros who were making their debut appearance.

Ghanaians have expressed their disappointments in the performance of the Black Stars since the shocking defeat to Comoros, calling for the dissolution of the technical team led by Serbian tactician Milovan Rajevac.

In a press statement released today, the Youth and Sports Ministry has shared in the sentiment of Ghanaians who are hugely disappointed in the performance of the Black Stars despite boasting of some big names in our squad.

The Ministry emphasized the emergency meeting will be on urgent discussions and take decisions aimed at salvaging the performance of the Black Stars especially in the next set of games.
