GHPL WEEK15: Kotoko win, Heart of Oak Draw at Home

Asante Kotoko bounced back to winning ways with 2-1 win over defendeing champions Aduana Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Burkina faso international Sogne Yacouba hit a brace and his third for Asante Kotoko with Bright Adjei getting the consolation goal for the away side

*Accra Hearts of Oak poor performance continued as they drew 1-1 with League Leaders, Medeama SC at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium

Striker, Abubacar Traore scored for the Phobians while Awudu Tahiru restored parity for the Yellow and Mauves late on in the game. Hearts of Oak drop to 13th from 12th with 17 points following the draw.

 

*Elsewhere, Ashanti Gold suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park in Berekum. Stephen Amankonah with the only goal.

*Asante Kotoko loanee, Yakubu Mohammed scored his third goal in two games for Mid-Table Elmina Sharks as they drew 1-1 with Liberty Professionals The visitors’ only strike came from Tamimu Muntari at the Nduom Sports Complex.

* At the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Aiyinase, Karela United proved too strong for Inter Allies following a 2-1 win. Abdul Ganiu and William Opoku Mensah with goals for the Passioners while Paul Abagna with the consolation fro allies. The win takes Karela United to 2nd with 25 points.

*Hamzah Mohammed and Hafiz Konkoni were on the scoresheet as Bechem United came back from a goal down to beat WAFA 2-1 Umar Bashiru netted the first goal the Academy Boys at the Nana Gyeabour Park in Bechem.

*Maxwell Oppong’s only goal was enough for bottom placed side Wa All Stars  to beat Eleven Wonders at the Malik Jabr Park.

*Dreams FC settled for 1-1 draw with Ebusua Dwarfs at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi in the only game on Saturday. Captain, Leonard Owusu put his side ahead before Michael Asamoah pulled parity for the Visitors.
