Gold Fields prioritizes Caddies and Women Golfers – Hans De Beer Discloses

Chairman of the Organising committee for the Gold Fields PGA championship Hans De Beer has disclosed that Gold Fields will organize competitions for women golfers next year because we at GoldFields prioritizes young and Lady golfers.

He made this revelation at the ongoing Gold Fields PGA championship at Damang.

‘We really want to get the ladies golf tournament in Ghana.

‘We have invited some of the top ladies in the country to participate in the tournament which next year will be better for us.

‘So next year will extend invitations to the ladies to host a tournament for them to help improve their standards.

‘Although there are some championship going around in various golf clubs for them but I think we need a proper one for them.’

Caddies Competition.

Mr. Hans Jahannes De Beer who is Vice President in charge of Engineering and projects at Gold Fields made it clear that his team will host a special tournament for caddies.

‘We have send invitations to the various clubs to present caddies for a tournament but unfortunately we had just ten names presented to us from various clubs.

‘And we can’t put up a tournament for just 8 or 10 people.

‘The prizes and everything is ready for the tournament we will review everything and see how we can best help get the caddies here to play because most of the professionals you see on the course today are once caddies.

‘The problems we have realized about these caddies is that most of them don’t have the equipment to play so we are planing to present golf equipment to caddies to help them out.

‘So as we can have a good tournaments with proper logistics and financial backing to help them.’’

The 2020 Gold Fields PGA championship enters Day three on Friday which Saturday will be the last day for the tournament.
