Gabby Otchere-Darko, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has admonished party members to step away from the problems surrounding Martin Amidu and get back to the campaign trail.
He tweeted in the heat of the fallout from Mr. Amidu’s resignation as Special Prosecutor, “You have a positive story to tell and to secure a second time.”
On Tuesday, 17 November, Mr. Amidu’s letter of resignation was addressed in a nine-page letter from the Office of the President, but he has since responded.
The former Attorney General and Minister of the Interior said in a recorded telephone interview on Thursday, November 19, that he feels compelled to speak out and that for many, particularly the government, it may be “unpalatable.”
“Please, since I left office, I have said that I will not give a press interview about my resignation,” he noted.
