This is the time for TikTok influencers and nobody can fight that – KiDi

Ghanaian high-life and afrobeats singer Dennis Nana Dwamena, professionally known as Kidi has added his voice to the ensuing debate between a section of Ghanaian musicians, industry players and some TikTok influencers.

The brouhaha started after a Tiktok star, Martina Deamena, popularly known in showbiz circles as Asantewa asserted that it doesn’t matter how good a musician can be, the song may not reach the target audience if it is not channelled through TikTok stars for promotion.

“I have always maintained that it doesn’t matter how long you have played your music game. When you make that song, it is not about your craft, you need to get us on board before it can blow. If not, you will be the only person singing the song… We make the song trend,” Asantewaa emphasized.

These comments triggered series of attacks on social media compelling her to apologize.

In spite of her remorse, critics still scold her for those remarks.

KiDi however has a totally different opinion on this controversy

According to KiDi, musicians and other industry players ought to understand that this is the time for TikTok influencers and no one can fight that.

He added that changes are bound to come naturally by the law of natural order and that is why TikTok influencers remain one of the instrumental platforms promoting songs.

KiDi ended that those who are ‘fighting’ these TikTok stars must understand that they are currently part of the music ecosystem and they cannot be ignored.
