VGMAs is cursed -Patapaa

Ghanaian artiste Patapaa has expressed his belief that the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) has incurred a curse from God.
In a recent interview, the One Corner hitmaker revealed that he still hasn’t come to terms with the embarrassing loss he experienced in the 2018 edition of the award scheme, where he was nominated for the Most Popular Song of the Year category.
Patapaa, whose real name is Justice Amoa, was among the nominees, which included prominent artists like Ebony, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Fancy Gadam, Joe Mettle, and Captain Planet.
He implied that the curse might be a form of divine retribution for the way he felt mistreated during the award ceremony. While he refrained from providing explicit details, Patapaa mentioned an incident involving Amakye Dede, where he was allegedly pressured to crown someone against his will during a previous VGMA event.
The controversy stemmed from Patapaa’s ‘One Corner’ losing the award to Fancy Gadam’s ‘Total Cheat.’ Following the event, Patapaa had made claims that the VGMA board had received bribes to wrongly award certain artists who didn’t deserve the recognition.
As a result of his dissatisfaction and disillusionment with the award scheme, Patapaa warned the VGMA not to nominate him in any category in the future.
