The opposition National Democratic Congress NDC has stated they are poised for victory in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency in the upcoming polls.
NDC Deputy Director of elections in the constituency, Albert Aheto, who disclosed this on Dwaboase on Power FM Thursday, noted that the people in the constituency are yearning for change following their disappointment in their MP, Sara Adwoa Safo.
He said the NDC’s door-to-door campaign which has gained momentum has changed the minds of most electorates who have pledged to vote for the NDC candidate, Faustina Elikplim Akurugu and the NDC flagbearer John Mahama.
Asked how sure the NDC is about claiming a seat that is considered as a safe seat for the ruling NPP, Aheto told host Kwame Minkah ” we are not closing the gap; we are winning the seat outrightly.”
“The people are fed up and our message carries hope especially at a time the people can’t see their MP. The MP has disappointed the people in terms of facilitating for projects such as roads and other social amenities.”
He said the erstwhile NDC government embarked on some critical projects like a district hospital and the first ever senior high school as well as the rehabilitation of roads in the area but the NPP has virtually nothing to show after borrowing twice the amount the NDC took as loans.
He said the people felt cheated and are voting the NDC in what he described as a miracle that will happen on election day.
He said the NDC will continue to reach out to the people and continue to give them a listening ear when in government.
