The General Manager of TV XYZ, Mr Alexander Osei-Aboagye says he remains confident about making TV XYZ competitive in the industry.
In recent times, new television stations are springing up in the national capital, introducing telenovelas and other programmes that do not promote Ghanaian culture.
But Osei-Aboagye believes there are enough Ghanaian values that ought to be showcased to the youth through media programmes.
He made this assertion in an interview with Myxyzonline.com after the maiden edition of a women-centered TV show –Women On The Frontline– that was aired on TV XYZ on Sunday, May 1, 2022.
The programme which is hosted by Margaret Ansei (Magoo), a politician and academic, will focus on the struggles of successful women and how they surmounted them to become role models.
The first edition was a conversation with a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
Prof Naana Jane, as she is affectionately called, became the first woman Vice presidential candidate of a larger political party in Ghana – the NDC.
She has held various positions related to academia both in Ghana and Africa for years. She is also a former Minister for Education under the erstwhile Mahama administration.
As a former head of production for TV XYZ for more than 5 years, Mr Osei-Aboagye brings on board an enviable experience in the television industry to have a larger audience.
“With the help of my team, we are looking at becoming a household name with our programmes that offer Ghanaians both home and abroad a platform to be part of nation building,” he said.
With XYZ news and other current Affairs like Dwaboase (breakfast show), Ideas Exchange, Gumbe Show, Abranaaso hosted by seasoned broadcasters, Ghanaians get to understand the nuances of governance and its gaps and how to contribute their quota to help shape the country’s democracy.
TV XYZ also has entertainment programmes like Power Entertainment every Saturday, X Zone that discuss issues in the showbiz industry.
Apart from being known as a channel that shows exciting movies, TV XYZ has thrilling musical shows to serve all it’s audience at different times.
Women on the Frontline airs at 8pm every Sunday only on TV XYZ.
