Broadcast journalist with TV XYZ and Power 97.9 FM, Odeefuo Kwasi Berchie has been arrested by the Kotobabi Police for filming the headquarters of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Wednesday afternoon.
According to some journalists, Odeefuo and some journalists were at the PNC headquarters to cover a press conference about the suspension of General Secretary Janet Asana Nabla when the police picked him up.
Reports indicate that the presser was characterized by confusion as the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the party walked into the presser while the Communication Officer of the party addressed the media.
Odeefuo who had filmed the melee and had proceeded to the entrance to take other footage was confronted by police officers and picked him up to the Kotobabi police station.
Some journalists who were present at the premises said they heard the police officers say he had no permission to take pictures of the edifice.
Odeefuo has since been detained at the Kotababi police station.
