The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made a mockery of President Akufo-Addo over the latter’s recent comment on reshuffling his ministers.
President Nana Akufo-Addo recently said he would not heed to calls to reshuffle his ministers, adding that the some people behind the calls wanted his government destabilised.
Speaking on North Star radio in Tamale, the President indicated that his appointees were meeting his expectations, adding “for all you know, it is people who want to destabilise my government or people who are looking for jobs, who are behind those calls.”
The statement which shocked most political analysts and received much condemnation from the main opposition party.
General Secretary of the NDC, Mr Asiedu Nketiah took a jibe at Akufo-Addo and averred that Akufo-Addo’s government was non-functional hence he did not see the possibility for one to destabilise it.
“The government itself is not functioning so who is going to destabilise it and take credit for destabilisation?” the NDC chief scribe quizzed in an interview on Joy News.
To him, the calls for Akufo-Addo was from his own party members who kept trumpeting that the kind of governance being witnessed in the country is not what the NPP represents.
Meanwhile, a former Chief of Staff, Mr Kwadwo Mpiani has called for the resignation of Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta for nonperformance.
To him, a reshuffle should be done to bring results and not for the sake of doing so.
“You want to reshuffle and why do you want to do that? is it because those who are in there are not doing their jobs well and therefore you want to change them or you want to do it for the sake of reshuffle?” he quizzed.
