Lieutenant Colonel (retired) Larry Gbevlo Lartey, a former National Security Coordinator under the previous government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has refuted Assin Central Lawmaker’s allegations of threatening Ghana’s peace.
On Net2TV, Kennedy Agyapong ordered Colonel Gbevlo Lartey to renounce any move that would threaten the country’s stability.
He said Gbevlo Lartey has a leaked audio recording allegedly intending to disrupt the peace of the country, but he and the NPP are not going to remain aloof and watch the NDC plunge the country into a state of chaos.
“In this country, try anything funny, and let’s see who dies first.”
But Colonel Gbevlo Lartey said that is not his style in a post on Facebook addressing the problems with respect to the leaked audio and allegations by Kennedy Agyapong that he intends to plunge the country into chaos.
He believes in pursuing constitutional means of finding justice for him, and that is what the NDC is trying to do in its competition against the stolen verdict.
He denied knowledge of the audio that said “Mischief!” I did not put out any voice samples to prevent any questions. That mischievous voice clip of someone singing and threatening is not from me doing the rounds. That’s not me, not my style at all, not my stance, and not my choice of words.’
“I sing better than that in any event. In compliance with the constitution, my determination to help ensure that the elections are not stolen by any of the contending parties has better and honourable forms of speech. In my mind, justice and reputation in Sene West, Techiman South, Sefwi Wiawso, Esikado-Ketan etc. “We have come such a long way that no threats are a cowed or petrified-a citizen and not a spectator,” he said.
