Director of Elections of the National Democratic Congress, Dr Omane Boamah has expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the Inter Party Advisory Committee, IPAC meeting held today, March 7, 2024.
According to him, a brief post on facebook, the Electoral Commission, unlike the past, was accommodating and the discussions were constructive.
The post, shortly after the meeting listed highlights of five key decisions after what he described as successful discussions.
These are as follows:
1. Guarantor system maintained.
2. Indelible ink maintained.
3. No continuous registration of voters. Dates for Transfer and Proxy maintained on the calendar.
4. Limited registration to be done in District Offices and agreed difficult to reach areas in Electoral Areas (Movement plan to be shared 21 days to 7th May, 2024).
5. No new polling stations will be created, but new polling centers will be created by splitting polling stations with voters above 749 after limited registration.
Dr Omane Boamah commended all stakeholders including political parties, the Electoral Commssion, CSOs and Development partners.
He also said the NDC and political parties present, accepted amendments made to the 2024 Elections calendar.
He said the NDC will continue to constructively engage the EC and firmly criticise when they go wrong.
