NDC committed to inclusive growth in education and sports – Mahama assures as he cuts sod for 500-seater multipurpose Sports complex

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama has reiterated his pledge to improve sports infrastructure to bolster talent development across the country for all.

He strongly believes such facilities, if well managed, will not only create opportunities for the youth but enhance the economy through direct and indirect jobs as well as end the increasing exodus of talents.

The former President made this assurance when he was speaking at a sod cutting ceremony for the construction of a 500-seater modern sports facility at Bole on Sunday, September 22, 2024.

“When completed, this will surely be an excellent opportunity to provide the youth with an avenue to develop their sporting skills and talents, keep them healthy, and create entertainment opportunities through the various games and activities in the complex’’ he noted

The Former President also indicated that as a social democratic party, the NDC is immutable in its commitment to inclusive growth through investments in every facet of the economy especially health, education and sports for development.
Facilitated by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bole, Alhaji Yusif Suleman, the sports complex when completed will contain a football pitch with changing rooms, volleyball and tennis courts and a swimming pool.

Point three of the NDC sports development read “to pursue our long-standing policy of establishing international standard stadia in all regions.”

In addition to constructing new stadia, the NDC plans to refurbish existing facilities that are currently inadequate for their intended purposes.
