Veteran Ghanaian actor Seth Kwabena Kyere Karikari, popularly known as Koo Fori, has been granted bail in the sum of GH₵320,000 with three sureties following his appearance before the Dansoman Circuit Court.
He faces allegations of defrauding a U.S.-based Ghanaian citizen of $50,000 under the pretense of facilitating a legitimate investment opportunity.
Koo Fori, recognized for his role in the television series Efiewura, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The court proceedings revealed that the actor allegedly received the funds between 2021 and 2022 but failed to honor the terms of the agreement, leading to a formal complaint by the victim.
His legal counsel, Derick Aboagye Asamoah, refuted the fraud allegations, asserting that Koo Fori had already settled the $50,000 in question.
Asamoah suggested that the case stems from a dispute over the size of the land and the remaining balance owed to the complainant.
The court has adjourned the case for further proceedings.
