The Rastafarian Society of Ghana have expressed its unwavering support for the constitutional process initiated by President Mahama concerning the removal of the Chief Justice.
They believe that this process is a crucial step in upholding the principles of justice, transparency, and accountability within our esteemed judiciary system.
In a statement signed by their leader, Ras Fergie, they say as custodians of peace, love, and justice, the Rastafarian community recognizes the importance of a fair and impartial judicial system as the backbone of a democratic society.
We urge all Ghanaians and, in particular, well-meaning Rastafarians to trust and respect the constitutional framework that governs this process.
Our commitment to non-violence and dialogue reflects our hope for a resolution that honors the dignity and rights of all parties involved.
According to him, they understand that matters concerning our judiciary can elicit strong emotions and opinions; however, we must allow this process to unfold as prescribed by our laws.
It is imperative that every citizen remains informed and engaged without resorting to discord or division. As Rastas, we embody the principles of unity, peace, and education; we encourage our community members to operate within these values throughout this period.
The statement said they stand in solidarity with the pursuit of justice and call upon all Ghanaian citizens to support the constitutional mandate laid forth by the President.
We believe that through this process, we can attain the higher moral ground essential for nurturing a fair and just society.
They are therefore called on all Ghanaians to come together as one people, embracing the strength of our diversity while supporting the rule of law in Ghana.
Trust the process, for a brighter and more just future is possible when we work together.
