COCOBOD denies reports that 10 directors were asked to stay home with pay

The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has dismissed media reports suggesting that 10 of its directors have been instructed to stay home on full salary.

In a statement issued on August 20, 2025, management described the reports as “misleading,” stressing that no director has been asked to stay home and continue drawing pay.

COCOBOD clarified that the only director currently on leave is the former Director of Finance, who had not taken leave for eight years.

Management further explained that recent staff movements are part of a strategic realignment aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness within the organisation.

The statement urged the public to disregard the false claims and directed media inquiries to its Public Affairs Department.
