The High Court in Accra has revised the police inquiry bail conditions for former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, and his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng, who are under investigation for allegedly causing financial loss to the state.
Updated Bail Conditions
Kwabena Adu-Boahene’s Bail:
- Reduced from GH¢120 million to GH¢80 million
- Now requires two sureties, one with justification
Angela Adjei-Boateng’s Bail:
- Remains at GH¢80 million
- Two sureties required, but no justification needed
Additional Conditions for Both:
- Must report to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) twice a week for three weeks
- Prohibited from traveling without EOCO’s permission
Court’s Decision and Legal Arguments
The bail revision follows a motion filed by their lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea, seeking adjustments to the initial stringent conditions.
Presiding Judge Justice Ruby Aryeetey granted some relief by reducing Mr. Adu-Boahene’s bail and easing the conditions for his wife.
The case remains under investigation, with both individuals expected to comply with EOCO’s directives while legal proceedings continue.
