Renowned gospel music executive and media personality Daniel Lartey, popularly known in showbiz as Dan Lartey, has made a passionate appeal to gospel musicians across Ghana to foster unity, embrace diversity, and lead with unconditional love in the industry.
In a heartfelt open letter shared on his official Facebook page, Dan Lartey addressed what he described as growing concerns over division, predictability, and lack of inclusion within the gospel fraternity.
He urged gospel artists to demonstrate emotional maturity and avoid resentment, especially when they feel unsupported or unacknowledged by peers.
“In this journey of ministry through music, one important truth we must all embrace is that not everyone will show you love, and that’s okay,” he wrote. “If you choose to love, love without expectation. Let your expression of love be pure, not transactional.”
Reflecting on his own commitment to promote peace and harmony within the industry, Lartey encouraged artistes to move beyond bitterness and competition, emphasizing that true ministry is grounded in love and service.
He also raised concern about the repetitive lineups dominating major gospel concerts, describing the trend as creatively limiting and detrimental to the growth of the genre.
“The trend of booking the same faces and voices over and over again is slowly making our concerts predictable and, frankly, uninspiring,” he observed. “Diversity of sound, message, and gifting is essential if we want to grow, remain relevant, and reach the fullness of what God intends for this ministry.”
Lartey concluded his message with a rallying call to the gospel community:
“Let’s reflect. Let’s build. And above all, let’s love without expectations.”
His message has since sparked meaningful conversation within the gospel music space, earning praise for its honesty and for reigniting calls for inclusivity, creativity, and collaboration among Ghanaian gospel artists.
