Eric Appiah Adjei, the immediate past Deputy Spokesman for the Campaign team of Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has urged party supporters who have issues with the appointments of the President to calm down.
The Deputy Spokesman for the NDC in the Bono Region who spoke on Dwaboase on TV XYZ indicated that the government was yet to settle, and party supporters must not be seen on rampage to dwindle the goodwill of the government.
“We have suffered in opposition for 8 years and as Ghanaians have given us power, we must be careful not to act in a way that dents the image of the new government,” he told host Kwame Minkah.
His comments follow reports of disturbances alleged to have been led by supporters of the NDC in some parts of the country.
Ho, the Volta Regional capital, is the latest area that recorded such acts by party supporters.
Last Tuesday evening on January 21, some youths, believed to be members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), went on a rampage and set ablaze some items in the party’s constituency office.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho Central constituency, Edem Kofi Kpotosu, has since condemned the disturbances in his constituency.
In a press release, the MP said “Such actions do not reflect the values and principles of the constituents of Ho Central, nor the NDC as a whole. I stand firmly against any form of violence, vandalism, or unpatriotic behaviour. These actions do not represent the people of Ho Central, nor do they align with our shared values of respect, dialogue, and peace.”
He called on the Police to swiftly “investigate and bring the perpetrators to book.”
