Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has called on the newly inaugurated Ministerial Oversight Committee for Ghana’s 2026 World Cup campaign to ensure that as many Ghanaians as possible are granted visas to travel and cheer on the Black Stars at the tournament to be hosted in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
According to him, the U.S. Embassy has already indicated its willingness to facilitate visa acquisition for Ghanaian supporters.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Committee on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the Presidency, Mr. Debrah urged members to follow up on earlier discussions with the Embassy to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
“Visa facilitation is very important. Just last Saturday, I attended a programme with the American Embassy at the Ghana–American Chamber of Commerce, and they said they are going to ensure that as many Ghanaians as possible are able to attend to lend support to our national team,” he stated.
He further charged the Committee to work closely with the Embassy to ensure a seamless arrangement for Ghanaian fans.
“It was a good statement that we need to follow up on, and we expect your Committee to make time and engage the appropriate officials at the American Embassy to ensure that Ghanaians are given the opportunity to go and cheer up their team,” he implored.
