The President of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier, arrived in Ghana on Sunday evening for a three-day state visit.
He was received at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) by Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and the German Ambassador to Ghana, Mr. Frederik Landshöft.
President Steinmeier, who is accompanied by a high-level delegation, is expected to hold official talks with his host, President John Dramani Mahama, on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the Presidency in Accra.
The visit will begin with the German President inspecting a full Guard of Honour at the Forecourt of the Jubilee House.
He and President Mahama will then hold a closed-door meeting before joining their respective delegations for bilateral discussions in the Credentials Room.
Talks between the two leaders will focus on strengthening Ghana–Germany relations, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, technology, and development cooperation.
A State Luncheon will be held in honour of President Steinmeier and his delegation at the Presidential Banquet Hall in the afternoon.
On Tuesday, President Steinmeier will travel to Kumasi, where he is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and participate in other official engagements before his departure later that evening.
