Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a stern directive that any supervisor or invigilator found engaging in examination malpractice during the 2025 WASSCE will be dismissed from service.
The Ghana Education Service (GES), led by Director-General Professor Ernest Kofi Davies, has authorized the dismissal of any teaching or non-teaching staff found guilty of exam malpractice during the 2025 WASSCE, which runs from August 5 to September 19.
This move aims to uphold the integrity and fairness of national exams, following a spate of misconduct during the June 2025 BECE that led to arrests and court actions against several teachers and invigilators, especially in the Bono Region.
Offenders faced fines or jail time for actions like leaking exam papers or assisting candidates.
GES has adopted a zero-tolerance stance, emphasizing collaboration with WAEC and security agencies to enforce exam rules, while regional directors have been tasked with implementing strict preventive measures.
The initiative seeks to restore public trust in Ghana’s exam system through decisive legal and administrative actions.
GES has taken a decisive stance by authorizing the dismissal of supervisors and invigilators found to engage in examination malpractice during the WASSCE.
This policy builds on earlier BECE-era enforcement efforts, including arrests and prosecutions, and underscores a commitment to maintaining examination integrity nationwide.
