Ghana tourism authority to host 2025 national tourism awards — celebrating ‘the black star experience’

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has announced that the 2025 National Tourism Awards will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at The Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre, beginning at 5:00 p.m.

This year’s event, themed “Celebrating Ghanaian Ingenuity and Excellence in Tourism.

The Black Star Experience,” will spotlight distinction, innovation, and leadership across Ghana’s tourism, hospitality, and creative sectors.

The ceremony will honour individuals and institutions whose exceptional contributions continue to project Ghana as a leading destination on the global tourism map.

Instituted in 1997, the National Tourism Awards remains Ghana’s premier platform for recognizing excellence and dedication within the tourism ecosystem.

The 2025 edition will celebrate pioneers and changemakers whose creativity, service, and resilience continue to define Ghana as the heartbeat of African tourism.

The event will feature Hon. Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff, as the Special Guest of Honour, alongside the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and other distinguished guests from government, the diplomatic corps, the private sector, and the creative industry.

Ahead of the event, Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, said this year’s theme reflects Ghana’s growing confidence as a destination defined by originality and creativity.

“The Black Star Experience captures the soul of our nation, bold, inventive, and full of promise. Through this celebration, we honour the Ghanaian spirit that turns ideas into impact and passion into progress. Our industry thrives when we celebrate our own ingenuity and push the boundaries of excellence,” she remarked.

Guests can look forward to a vibrant evening of cultural performances, artistic showcases, and Ghanaian hospitality,  a true celebration of the nation’s cultural pride and creative energy.

The Ghana Tourism Authority is inviting all stakeholders and the general public to join in celebrating Ghanaian Ingenuity and Excellence in Tourism, The Black Star Experience.
