Ken Ofori-Atta faces possible reinstatement on OSP wanted list as deadline ends

Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is at risk of being re-added to the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s (OSP) wanted list, as the deadline for him to appear before the OSP expires today, June 2, 2025.

The OSP had previously removed his name from the list after he provided a definite return date in May 2025, but his failure to appear as scheduled has prompted the OSP to consider reinstating his wanted status and initiating the process for an INTERPOL Red Notice.

Ofori-Atta’s legal team has cited health complications as the reason for his absence, submitting medical documentation to both the OSP and the Human Rights Court.

They have also proposed a virtual session with the OSP, referencing provisions under the Electronic Transactions Act to support this request.

A ruling on Ofori-Atta’s legal challenge against the OSP’s previous declaration of him as a wanted person is scheduled for June 18, 2025, at the Human Rights Court.
