Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has reaffirmed government’s strong commitment to the proposed 24-hour economy, describing it as a game-changing policy to remove barriers to business growth and create fertile ground for Ghanaian enterprises to thrive.
Speaking on the second day of the This Is Ghana Exhibition in Accra, Mr. Debrah highlighted the initiative’s potential to unlock new opportunities, streamline operations, and empower local businesses to compete globally.
He lauded the efforts of key state institutions, including the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Ghana Exim Bank, and Ghana Enterprises Agency — for supporting local enterprises with financing, market access, and capacity building.
In a passionate appeal, he urged Ghanaians to prioritize indigenous products.
“You are not merely showcasing products; you are showcasing Ghana’s future. With persistence, quality, and innovation, Ghana can ascend to its rightful pedestal in the global market,” Mr. Debrah told exhibitors.
He stressed that reducing reliance on foreign goods would strengthen industries, create jobs, and boost national development, assuring stakeholders that government would continue to provide an enabling environment for businesses.
According to him, the success of local enterprises is “inextricably linked” to the country’s prosperity.
The This Is Ghana Exhibition has become a major platform for showcasing creativity, connecting with consumers, and attracting investors.
This year’s edition featured an impressive range of products and services, reflecting Ghana’s entrepreneurial spirit and innovative capabilities.
