The Minority caucus in Parliament has insisted that the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, participates in the 2024 mid-year budget review debate in the law-making chambaer.
The cqaucus has thus invited Dr Bawumia to avail himself for the debate on the economy due to his role as the Chairman of the Economic Management Team.
In a statement, Deputy Minority Whip, Ibrahim Ahmed, saids parliamentary rules allow sitting Vice Presidents to participate in debates on the floor of the House.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the caucus noted “The debate begins on Thursday 25th July, 2024 in the parliamentary chamber at 10 O’clock in the forenoon. The Minority is extending this public invitation to the Vice President given his role as Chairman of the Economic Management Team of the government.”
