Next NDC government to institute national thanksgiving day

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress ((NDC) John Mahama has promised to institute a National Day of Thanksgiving and Prayers to be observed annually by both Christians and Muslim.

 

According to him the Bible, like the Quran  admonishes that in all things we must give thanks to the Almighty.

 

Mr Mahama who was engaging Christian and Muslim clerics during a Breakfast meeting at Ho as part of his campaign tour of the Volta region, said many prosperous nations have not only made progress through hard work and commitment to sincerity but succeeded with the power of God behind them.

“And so,in my numerous travels around the world, in the  United States, Zambia, Congo and many others. I have been invited to national thanksgiving prayers for their nation – he emphasized

 

Mr Mahama said his next government will follow suit to bind the nation in the spirit for a common agenda.

 

“And so we intend to introduce annually, national day of prayer and thanksgiving for both the Christian and the Muslim community so that all is us together, we will together interceed for God to open more opportunities so that our country will progress and prosper and create better opportunities for our young people and make our name great and strong ” he emphasized.
