“No need for suspension”—Prof. Beyuo defends Sammy Gyamfi after Agradaa cash clip

Lambussie MP and former GMA General Secretary, Prof. Titus Beyuo, is defending NDC firebrand Sammy Gyamfi after a video of him gifting cash to controversial evangelist Mama Pat stirred backlash online.

The video, which drew sharp criticism across social media and from the Minority Caucus, shows Gyamfi giving money to Nana Agradaa whose checkered past as a self-styled evangelist and former fetish priestess continues to stir public debate.

Some critics have called for Gyamfi’s suspension from his role as the NDC’s National Communications Officer, but Prof. Beyuo says that’s an overreaction.

Speaking on Power FM he said.

“This doesn’t rise to the level of suspension.” “He’s admitted it was a lapse in judgment and apologized. It was meant as a personal act of kindness, not a political statement.”

But Prof. Beyuo argued that while the act may raise eyebrows, it does not meet the threshold for disciplinary action under existing laws.

Beyuo added that if the party sees fit to take action, it should do so through its internal structures not via social media pressure or public outcry.

The NDC hasn’t officially commented yet, but sources say the leadership is quietly reviewing the situation under its disciplinary procedures.

For now, Gyamfi remains in post, and the incident has not led to any formal party sanctions.
