President John Dramani Mahama back in Accra after three-nation visit to Kenya, Tanzania and Angola

The President John Dramani Mahama is back in Accra after a three-nation visit to Angola, Kenya and Tanzania.

He was met on arrival at the Kotoka International Airport by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, Marietta Brew Oppong, Legal Advisor to the President and other top government officials including National Security Advisor, Prosper Douglas Bani, National Security Coordinator, DCOP Abdul-Razak Osman and COP(rtd) Kofi Boakye.

Addressing the media, Acting Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu said the President, first made a brief stopover in Angola, where he met his counterpart, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço for bilateral talks, which centered on areas of economic benefit for both countries.

At Dar es Salaam, Tanzania where he joined other African leaders at an Energy Summit organized by the World Bank and the African Development Bank, AfDB.

‘The objective, he said was how to extend electricity to underserved areas in the various countries.

Mr Kwakye Ofosu added that His Excellency John Mahama shared Ghana’s experience and strategies it adopted to solve the power crisis it faced and expressed Ghana’s commitment to the objectives

In Nairobi, Kenya the President joined an African Union, (AU) Heads of State Institutional Reforms Retreat, which was hosted by Kenya President, William Ruto.

The Retreat focused fashioning our key Institutional Reforms to strengthen the AU in the implementation of its goals

“He called for deep seated reforms to enable the African union carry out its mandate for the benefit of millions on the continent and to facilitate regional integration” – Mr Kwakye Ofosu told the media.

The President was accompanied by Deputy Chief of Staff, Stan Dogbe and his Executive Secretary, Dr Callistus Mahama, and other government officials.
