Ghana-China Relations, Investment, and Women’s Empowerment Top Agenda
President John Dramani Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama have arrived in Beijing, China, to participate in the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women, hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping and UN Women.
The two-day meeting, taking place from October 13 to 14, brings together world leaders to renew the global commitment to women’s empowerment and accelerate the implementation of the landmark 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
This year’s event also coincides with the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women, which was originally held in Beijing in 1995.
