President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned 11 new envoys, charging them to ensure Ghana is firmly connected to global markets and positioned for stronger economic growth.
Speaking at a brief ceremony, President Mahama said the diplomats’ mandate must be anchored on delivering growth at home through effective engagement abroad, in line with government’s RESET agenda, which aims to rebuild confidence in governance, restore discipline within public institutions, and strengthen the foundations of growth and job creation.
“Your mandate is to help deliver growth at home through effective engagement abroad. Every meeting you hold, every partnership you pursue, every investor you convince must be aimed at contributing to Ghana’s transformation,” he stressed.
President Mahama also reminded the diplomats of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set for them, noting that their work must directly support trade expansion, investment attraction, and Ghana’s economic competitiveness.

The envoys are tasked with boosting Ghana’s global engagement by expanding trade, attracting sustainable investment, promoting tourism and culture, supporting technology transfer, helping Ghanaian businesses abroad, and delivering efficient consular services to citizens overseas.
Ghana’s new Ambassador to Italy, Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey, speaking on behalf of her colleagues, said the envoys would leverage technology and modern diplomatic tools to execute their mandate.
“Today, climate change and pandemics rank alongside military threats. Today’s envoys are the change agents for bridging gaps, exhibiting cultural competency, and engaging our talented diaspora, particularly young Ghanaians,” she said.

She added that they are honoured to serve at a time when the global economy is evolving rapidly.
“We assure you of our dedication and commitment to land concrete deliverables at a time when the world economy is charting unknown territories yet acknowledging the new tailwinds of socioeconomic opportunities blowing over Ghana and all of Africa.”
The newly commissioned envoys include High Commissioners Doris Adzo Denyo Brese to Australia, Paul Evans Aidoo to Kenya, and Elizabeth Nyantakyi to Zambia.
The new Ambassadors are Theresa Adjei-Mensah to the Czech Republic, Felix Kumah Godwin Anebo to Senegal, Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey to Italy, Kenneth Akibate to Burkina Faso, Justice Solomon Korantwi-Barimah to Egypt, Eddison Mensah Agbenyegah to the Netherlands, Edward Kwaku Coffie to Algeria, and Brigadier-General Alhassan Abu to Côte d’Ivoire.
