The Teachers and Educational Workers’ Union (TEWU) of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) has declared an indefinite strike effective Friday, September 19, 2025.
The action will affect non-teaching staff across Technical and Public Universities, the Ghana Library Authority, and the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board (GMMB).
In a statement signed by General Secretary King James Azortibah, TEWU said the strike had become necessary after government failed to address long-standing concerns despite several engagements.
The union cited persistent delays in finalising and signing Conditions of Service agreements, leaving members frustrated.
It stressed that all laid-down procedures had been followed and warned that any attempt to intimidate members during the strike would amount to unfair labour practice.
