The Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, together with a government delegation, is in Brussels to participate in the Global Gateway Forum, a flagship event of the European Union (EU).
The 2025 edition of the Forum, which takes place from October 9 to 10, will bring together Heads of State and Government, business leaders, civil society representatives, and key financial actors to discuss the future of strategic partnerships in a multipolar world.
This year’s discussions are expected to focus on advancing global connectivity amid growing geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges.
The Global Gateway is the European Union’s strategy to promote smart, clean, and secure connections in the digital, energy, and transport sectors, while also strengthening health, education, and research systems across the world.
The Forum aims to mobilize up to €300 billion in investments to support sustainable and inclusive global development.
The first edition of the Global Gateway Forum, held in 2023, highlighted the EU’s major external investment initiatives and its commitment to building equitable partnerships with countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
