“You were my partner in life” — wife of late Alhaji Muniru pays emotional tribute

The wife of the late Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed, delivered a heartfelt tribute at the state burial for the eight victims of the August 6 military helicopter crash, remembering her husband as her closest companion and unwavering support for nearly three decades.

“You were my partner in life, my confidant, my counsellor, and my truest friend,” she said.
“For twenty-eight years, we walked side by side, through our happiest days and our most difficult moments. You gave me love that was constant and deep, and you made our home a place of warmth, love, mutual respect, and faith.”

She spoke of the man beyond the public role, a disciplined, compassionate, and principled leader who balanced national service with deep devotion to his family.

“You bore the demands of public service with patience, diligence, and dignity, yet you never allowed that to overshadow the love and attention you gave us at home.”

His influence, she said, extended far beyond family.

He supported education for the promising, mediated disputes with calm wisdom, and stood by the vulnerable when they had no one else.

“Because of you, our family grew beyond blood, stretching across the length and breadth of Ghana, held together by trust, gratitude, and love.”

She described him as a man who inspired loyalty through character, not authority, and whose absence leaves a void no one can fill.

“I will miss your laughter in our home, your gentle reassurances in times of difficulty, and your quiet strength that made me feel safe no matter the storm.”

Concluding her tribute, she offered gratitude and a prayer.

“Rest well, my love. I will carry you in my heart for the rest of my days, and I thank Allah for the gift of twenty-eight years by your side. May Allah grant you Jannatul Firdaus and unite us again in His mercy.”

Alhaji Muniru died alongside Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, former parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye, NDC Vice Chairman Samuel Sarpong, and three Ghana Air Force personnel, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
