At least 30% of appointees shall be females, NDC flag bearer John Mahama has assured.
He said NDC’s appreciation of women and their empowerment is not a mere rhetoric but a commitment as manifested in the choice of a woman as his Vice Presidential candidate.
John Dramani Mahama made the pledge when he joined the launch of the NDC Women’s Manifesto at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology on Monday 30th September, 2024.
According to John Mahama, women occupy a vital role in society and their expertise must be tapped into
John Mahama also commended Parliament for the first passage of the Affirmative Action bill.
He said, with that in mind, the next NDC administration will ensure women are well represented in his next government.
“Why should poverty have a female face in Ghana? The majority of unemployed people in Ghana are women. We want a Ghana where economic empowerment is a right.” he quizzed
Mr. Mahama was quick to add that it is the desire of the NDC to build a Ghana were the economy grows for all.
