Mother’s Day: Ghana thrives because of you – Vice President to Mothers

Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has paid tribute to mothers across Ghana in a heartfelt message to mark this year’s Mother’s Day celebration.

In a statement released on Sunday, May 11, the Vice President expressed profound appreciation for the strength, love, and sacrifices of mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and all mother figures who, she said, form the foundation of families and communities.

“Today, we honor the women whose strength, love, and everyday sacrifices build the foundation of our families and communities,” she stated.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also extended her gratitude on behalf of the nation, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of women to the country’s progress.

“To every mother, grandmother, caregiver, and mother figure: thank you. May you feel the deep gratitude of a nation that thrives because of you,” she said.

As part of the Mother’s Day celebration, the Office of the Vice President kind courtesy of the Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman organized a Mother’s Day celebration for school Children, Mothers, underprivileged Children, Kayayes etc at the Jubilee House to celebrate their efforts.

The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey speaking on behalf of the Vice President Prof. Jane Naana OPoku Agyemang expressed gratitude to women across Ghana.

She said Women work have shaped our history, enriched our present, and continues to inspire the future.

“On this Mother’s Day, we pause to honor you – not just for the roles you’ve played, but for the incredible women you are. Your resilience, patience, and boundless love light the way for those who come after you. You embody strength and grace, and we are proud to walk in the paths you’ve paved”.

She said the pride of this nation is built on the sacrifices women have made, and we want you to know that your contributions have not gone unnoticed.

She later said, the NDC government will continue to support and recognize mothers.
