Nsenkyire Cup 2026: Drama, Penalties and a Halted Match Set Up Final-Day Finish.

Ghanaian clubs Aduana FC, Medeama SC and FC Samartex 1996, alongside Togolese outfit Etoile Filante de Lomé, are using the Nsenkyire Cup 2026 as a warm-up for the upcoming 2026/27 season and the tournament has delivered plenty of drama along the way.

Aduana FC kicked things off in style, beating Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC 3-1 in the opening fixture. On the same day, Etoile Filante de Lomé edged FC Samartex 1996 1-0.

Matchday Two brought controversy. Aduana FC’s clash with Etoile Filante de Lomé was stopped at half-time after Aduana opted not to play on, citing dissatisfaction with the officiating. The remaining 45 minutes will now be completed on Monday morning.

Elsewhere on Matchday Two, Medeama SC and FC Samartex 1996 played out a goalless draw that went to a marathon penalty shootout, with Medeama coming out on top 10-9.

The tournament wraps up on Monday, August 24, with Medeama SC facing Etoile Filante de Lomé and FC Samartex 1996 taking on Aduana FC in the closing fixtures fitting finale to a competition that’s given all four sides valuable minutes ahead of the new campaign.
