Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Chairperson responsible for Operations, retired upon reaching the mandatory retirement age.

His responsibilities included overseeing electoral operations, managing substantial budgets, strengthening financial control systems, and designing training programmes for election officials.

He also served as an instructor for the Association of African Election Administrators. During the 2016 general elections, when the Electronic Results Transmission System failed, he developed an alternative Election Results Management System that was used for the official declaration of the presidential results. The system was widely noted for its efficiency and transparency.
