The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has approved a request from the Ghana National Gas Company Ltd. (Ghana Gas) to carry out a scheduled maintenance shutdown of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant from August 16 to 30, 2025.
According to the Ministry, the planned suspension of gas supply will enable critical inspections, repairs, and system upgrades aimed at enhancing the plant’s efficiency and reliability.
The shutdown forms part of the government’s broader commitment to ensuring the safe and sustainable operation of key national energy infrastructure.
To avoid disruptions in power supply, the Ministry is working closely with stakeholders in the power sector to deploy alternative fuel sources during the maintenance period. These measures are expected to maintain stable and uninterrupted electricity supply nationwide.
The Ministry assured the public of its commitment to delivering reliable energy and pledged to provide regular updates on the progress of the maintenance works.
