DVLA introduces SMS alerts for licence renewal and replacement

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has launched a new Customer Notifications Service to keep drivers informed about their licence renewal and replacement dates through SMS alerts.

According to the DVLA, the initiative will send pre-expiration notifications to customers ahead of their licence renewal or replacement deadlines, followed by an expiration reminder if the licence expires without renewal.

The Authority explained that the system is designed to ensure all customers are promptly informed about their upcoming licence expiration dates, helping them stay compliant and avoid penalties.

“This service aims to ensure all customers are informed about upcoming expiration dates for their licences,” the notice stated.

The DVLA encouraged drivers to ensure their contact details are up to date in its database to receive the notifications.

For further inquiries, customers can contact the DVLA via 030 274 6760 or info@dvla.gov.gh.
