The DVLA Boss, Julius Neequaye Kotei has announced that his outfit has cleared the one and half year backlogs of driver’s licenses that had not been printed when he took office
The CEO said this will pave way for the Authority to begin the issuing of instant licenses to drivers, beginning from January next year.
This, he indicated, forms part of the reforms being made at the DVLA to give clients value for money and increase revenue generation to the government.
He spoke on Dwaboase this morning on Power FM.
Just six months in office, Newquaye Kotei said revenue generation had increased by 53%, indicating that the government can take more through the new initiatives being introduced.
Saying he has cancelled contracts of 12 companies at the port that were distributing DP plates and short-changing the government.
He said the DVLA has begun 24-hour services in Accra, with Kumasi and Takoradi offices expected to join in August and September.
