“Festac isn’t just a festival, it marks Pan-African relations” — GTA CEO

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto, has highlighted the upcoming Festac Africa Festival 2025 as more than a cultural event, describing it as a vital platform for Pan-African unity, creativity, and sustainable development.

Speaking on her behalf at the official launch on Thursday, 11th September 2025, at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra, GTA Deputy CEO Gilbert Aggrey stressed the festival’s broader impact.

“Festac isn’t just a festival; it marks Pan-African relations. African culture and creativity are thriving, interconnected, and ready to power our shared future.

Festac Festival 2025 is the biggest Pan-African festival, bringing together culture and collaboration to drive sustainable development and create the largest trade marketplace during the festival week,” he said.

Organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and the GTA, in collaboration with Festac, the week-long event will run from 21st to 27th September 2025.

It is expected to be the continent’s largest Pan-African cultural and trade gathering, attracting artists, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and participants from across Africa and the diaspora.
