Waste management giant, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, has debunked claims that it is responsible for determining allowances paid to operatives under the Sanitation Module of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
The Waste management company maintains it is responsible for managing operatives and providing the necessary logistics, but payment of allowances is solely determined by the Government and the YEA.
A statement signed by the Communication Directorate of the company on Thursday, October 3,2024 indicated that the company only processes the payments made by the government to the operatives.
“The payment of YEA operatives’ allowances is solely determined by the Government/YEA. It is then released to Zoomlion for onward payment to the beneficiaries,” the statement read.
The statement further assured that Zoomlion Ghana’s commitment to supporting YEA operatives and working with the government to ensure timely payments adding that it will continue to deliver world-class waste management services and uphold it’s contractual agreements with the government
